Sunday nights - 5:30 p.m. in the Chapel
for singing, worship, scripture and fellowship.
We sing contemporary praise and worship songs

Several of our singers don't read music,

and love getting a chance to spend time in
worship of our Amazing God. For more

Worship
is at the heart of who we are at
First Church. Our worship services and music are traditional with a warm, welcoming feel. Services
include lay persons reading scripture and helping with
Communion. We also have a brief Children's Time during
our 10:45 worship. Our music ministry features
instrumentalists from the community, soloists, First
Church choirs, guest choirs and piano/organ
duets.
Our 8:30 a.m. service is held in West
Vestry and
is a more casual service, whereas the 10:45 a.m. service
is held
in the Sanctuary and is more traditional. Sunday School
is at
9:30 a.m., with classes for both children and adults, or
you may visit with friends and guests at our Coffee Hour
at 9:30 a.m. in West Vestry.

What if church weren’t just
about Sunday, but also about the other days of the week? An active verb, instead of a noun.
What if church wasn’t just a building but thousands of doors. Each of them opening to a different concept or experience of church. So that whoever knocks might find a journey to call their own.

A Prayer for the People of Haiti
Loving God of creation, at this time of
devastation we hold before you the people of
Haiti. When the damage is unimaginable, and the
suffering seems overwhelming, remind us that
every person affected is loved, honoured and
precious in your sight. We remember all
those who have been hurt; all who have lost
their homes, livelihoods and loved ones. Work
through us to bring healing to broken and
distorted lives, peace to those who have been
thrown into despair, light to those in darkness,
and hope to those who fear. We ask this in the
name of Jesus in whom all life and grace is
found. Amen |
